The NLRS will have a table in the club corral for the upcoming MidWinter =
Madness hamfest. Earl, N0HZ at [email protected] is the table =
coordinator. Since this is the first time our club has promoted itself =
this way (outside of Central States), lets give Earl our help & support =
as he asks for it. It is key that the table is manned at all times =
..... my pet peeve is a club table that there is no one around (what's =
that say about a club !!).

There has also been some discussion again on patches carrying our new =
club logo. Geoff, KC0FXY, has updated the original artwork to =
straighten up the elements on the yagi and to go with two stacked yagis =
.... it looks really nice ! This artwork has been forwarded to our =
webmasters and will be appearing on our NLRS website soon. In =
addition, Bud Patten, W0LCP at [email protected] has =
volunteered to act as a coordination point for looking where we can get =
club logo patches made. Our initial thoughts were to identify a =
manufacturer that could make the logos and the hats such that we could =
take individual club member orders .... we don't want the club to be =
floating the investment. If you have ideas along this line, please =
send them to Bud and copy myself if you would like. I have no doubt =
that Bud would appreciate all the input he can get from you on this so =
lets give him a hand.=20

Lastly, there has also been some discussion regarding the creation of a =
NLRS brochure to help promote the club. Towards this end, let me =
restate our NLRS Constitution preamble: "We, the undersigned, wishing =
to secure for ourselves the pleasures and benefits of an association of =
persons commonly interested in Amateur Radio, constitute the Northern =
Lights Radio Society and enact this Constitution and By-Laws as our =
governing law. It shall be our purpose to further the exchange of =
information and cooperation between members, to promote radio knowledge, =
fraternalism and individual operating efficiency, and to so conduct club =
programs and activities as to advance the general interest and welfare =
of Amateur Radio in the community." If we move forward with a =
brochure, I believe that it needs to live within the guidelines and =
principles that are stated in our preamble and which governs and defines =
our club. Towards that end, I am open to any proposal that would =
include costs. What I would be looking for is a product champion and a =
proposal. If costs becomes "significant" then we need to bring this =
before the club members for a vote ..... our business meeting at =
Aurora'03 would be an opportunity. =20
