[NLRS] LCD flat panel versus traditional CRT monitor RFI issues

I'm looking for thoughts and feedback about a potential RFI improvement =
within my shack....
I've equipped and installed software plus interface to get some exposure =
to HSMS and again, ran into the problem of RFI generated from my Sony =
17 inch CRT type PC monitor........ I've run the traps of trying to =
eliminate RFI with brute force filters, power and signal line choke =
suppressors, shielding as much as possible plus physical separation and =
this has greatly improved the PC to the point of =
non-issue..........however, the monitor still is a source of numerous =
birdies...... I've avoided this issue in the past by using paper =
logging and foregoing direct serial port interface for controlling the =
rigs..... But, still want to play with WSJT, JT44 & some of the other =
techniques...... In the past, I simply turned off the monitor when I =
wanted to operate (which is not possible with these newer digital modes =
that use the sound card interfaces)..... =20
My question is this...."How do flat panel LCD type monitor compare to =
the more traditional CRT (hi-voltage) type from the perspective of RFI?" =
Any and all observations appreciated......
Thanks! =20
