Hey Rich, thanks for the plug. I ran the numbers as well after the contest.
It was a close one for sure. I recall the last 3 to 4 hours being pretty
dead, would have been a great time to work more rovers. I
had worked everyone it seemed on 6M, there was no one else to work! All I
needed was a slight shift in the propagation to the SE, thats where the 6M
was the weakest. It was truely fun and the more the merrier for next year!
If we can get he Es to work out like last year, then there is definitly a
shot - would welcome all and any help.
As for the recent thread....I for one have lots of excuses. But its even
not worth mentioning them cause it wont change anyones mind about me, and
thats ok. Those of you who really know me, know me. Most of my recent time
has been spent on the microwaves, where its very hard to hear stations 200
miles off the side of the dish, so I appologize for that.
As for less activity, I dont care what anyone says, the States Above 50 Mhz
operating event sponsored by the CSVHF Society and tended to by Jon - W0ZQ
as the local cheerleader, has prompted more activity on ALL the bands, not
just 2 meters. I think thats a necessary distinction. The last three years
for me anyway has shown considerable activity on all the bands due to this
event. Yes we might not ragchew all the time, but we are active. So 2
meters is not always the hotbed of activity. Try a higher band and get
hooked up with some guys to work on a regular basis. Enter the CSVHF States
above event...It is a clear record of activity increasing in the areas. As
well as a clear measure of your activity level from year to year.
I am heading up to the cities for a trip this morning, my mom is in Abott
for heart surgury tommorow. I will have 2M SSB in the truck as I normally
do when I trip up there, and thats alot of trips.
