Hi Ray,
I think its largly what you have, and what your equipment has. Most of the
newer stuff (DEMI & DB6NT XVRTRS) have SMA. Older gear tends to have N
connectors. W0ZQ is having very good success with N-connectors and LMR400
for 24" or so of feedline. Hard to put SMAs on "RG-8" ! I think he said he
had measured 0.7 dB loss. UT-141 can be good and VERY bad. I think I'm
having a problem with one of my UT-141 cables... w/maybe 3+ dB loss in 6-7"
of cable.

Digi-key has SMA (male) connectors at a reasonable price. They are just a
nut and collar. You use the UT-141 as the center connector. Make good
cables. (Don't remember the part number off-hand. I'll look it up.)

PS Will you be on for the September portion of the 10GHz Contest ? There
won't too many folks around town next weekend... many of us will be around
Lake Superior.
