John, I've used a MMT 222 transverter for years .... the infamous little
black box. I use it in conjunction with a HR2600 10m IF rig and a 120
watt brick ..... works just fine. The only down side is that the
receiver dynamic range is not as good as the newer transverters, but as 222
is not as heavily utilized as 2m, I have not found this to be a significant
issue. Perhaps if you live in the Northeast corridor it would be, but not
here in the Midwest. My only modification to it was to install an ON/OFF
switch. If you are looking to buy a used one, make sure that it operates
222 as the original units were tuned up to run on 220 where the band used
to be.

Does anyone here have experience with MMT transverters? I have the
opportunity to purchase a 1.25M unit.
I don't know much about MMT since I don't know anyone that uses this
particular brand.
Pro's / Con's? Going Prices?
The only units that I have really seen up close are the demi units. The
demi
unit is my fall back if I can't find a deal on the used market.
