Thanks for all the responses. I even got an articulate and well reasoned response to my
quibble with the gent who contacted me. He points out that just because some letters are
pronounceable doesn't make them a word. He seems to rely on the universe of words covered
by Merriam-Webster which, I'll admit, is a big universe. So either rovers created a new
word in the early 90's that M-W doesn't recognize yet, or I'm just plain wrong. I
understand W0AMT's point about M-W not having a complete universe. The point I'll have to
concede is that no other verbs come to mind that follow the form of "rovering" while all
the rest of the verbs do follow the form of "roving". I may have to reluctantly change.
