Hi Guys

Hummmm .... I "maybe" interested in a new radio. Really have not decided that this is what I
want to do or not. I am looking at the IC756Pro to be used with transverters or the TS2000.
Wally W0PHD is happy with his Pro. Anyone else using the Pro for an "IF" rig? It does have a
transverter output right??? Can't find it in the right ups.

Really don't know where this is headed. This long mild winter would have even been worse had
it not been for 6 meters. SO ...... I find myself on the low bands looking for Q's. What a shame. I
used a BC1301 panadaptor with my Collins 75A4 back in the 60's and LOVED being able to
"see" the band. The current IF rigs (or exciters) have no filters and when looking for real weak
sigs I either hear them or not.

A 746Pro could be an option if I give up on the "scope". I here that the TS2000 has small
buttons and a VERY long learning curve. With BIG hands and a OLD head that may not be my
best choice. Either of these rigs offer good portable options that include VHF and in the case of
the 2000 UHF.

Wally W0PHD and I worked on JT44 yesterday with 10 watts on 2 and 432. This looks like a
GREAT mode for tropo just beyond good CW range. It took 40watts to get CW where it could be
copied. Sigs down to 20db below the noise! Joe is currently making it even better.

I had a great visit with Ray K9KHW today on 20 meters. Good visit. He is enjoying 6 meters
like so many of the rest of us this winter.

So any "first hand" knowledge to share???
