Hi All.
If the weather cooperates this weekend I am going to do
a mini rove in the local grids, 34 and 35. I plan to have
all the bands from 222 to 24 GHz and laser. 10 GHz will be
both narrow band and WBFM.
Most of the bands will be low power and small antennas.
So to get a good score I need to work everyone possible
on the high bands. I also need a couple of people to stop
by the site and work me on 10 GHz WBFM and 24 GHz.
I have two loaner 10 GHz WBFM rigs and one for 24 GHz.
The EN35 operating site is the park on the north side of
35W, just up the hill from the Honeywell plant.
We call it the St Anthony site when we work 10GHz.
EN34 is across the freeway at the Broadway Ridge office building.
Band switching is slow right now. I will have to do one band
at a time. To speed things up I would like to set up band times
for Saturday afternoon. From EN35 2304 at 4PM, 3456 at 4:15PM
and 5760 at 4:30 PM. That should give enough time to work
everyone with those bands and still get switched over. Once we
were all on the same band, it only took a few minutes to work
Gary, Lenny and Jon during the January contest. I would
like to repeat the process in EN34. Starting about 6:30PM with
2304, then 3456 and 5760. The other bands should be less of a
problem, but 902 and 1296 do use the same interface. 10 GHz
should be ready just about anytime, it has its own interface.
I only have low power on 3456, 50 mW and a 2 foot dish, hopefully
about the same on 5760. 2304 isn't a problem, 1W to a 21 el looper.
I have asked Mike, KM0T, for a sked Sunday morning at 7 AM. I would
be at Flying Cloud. I will let you all know when I hear from Mike.
Depending on how things go, and who I still need to work, I may hop
back and forth between grids on Sunday. Heck if I've worked everyone
I might even drive up to Monticello and try to work Mike from there.
Pretty optimistic though.
I look forward to working you all this weekend. Please let me know
if you will be on the air and when.
73, Gary WB0LJC
