Hi Al,
I thought a reply to the club rather than a direct one to you might help some of the "outside of the greater NJ area" members to comment. As you know, we relocated to Maine back in 2014. DX isn't too different from NJ up here, but enough to give me some advantages into Canada.
In the past, has there be any participation from our extended club members? If so, how was the scoring computed? For once in a long time, I hope to be part of this event. Except for a noisy pole transformer and the loose connection on the insulator, I'm in a pretty quite area. At some point I have to get the power co. out here.
As for my recent DX... on 1570 AM in Quebec, there is a station that splits between English and French pop music (50's to the 80's or so). Some nights are better than others and they are reliable for a French ID on the hour and ½ hour. What's attracted us to this station is that they'll play music familiar to us in English, and then later on, or on another night, play the French version. Sometimes the French version is better. They have a music format change at midnight if you're checking it out.

Folks,
The the 17th annual NJARC DX Contest is tentatively scheduled for 18-27
January 2019. I am opening the floor for discussion of rule changes to
improve the event, and encourage more participation.
See: http://www.njarc.ar88.net/contest.html
A little review:
THE OBJECT: To use vintage radio s receivers to receive broadcast-band
signals from the greatest possible distance. Performance
will be judged by the total mileage for your ten best loggings during a
24-hour session. You will be competing against competitors
using similar receivers.
The 24-hour-session rule means you don't have to make a large time
commitment to be competitive.
Let me know what you would like to change. Please reply all.
Regards,
Al
