I wanted to chime in and echo the sentiment that was given earlier that it's everyone's job to be mindful of the need to keep an eye open for new members. I think most new members that I am aware of found out from a friend who was already a member, or were a walk-in from one of our events (like a repair clinic or swap meet). I personally joined because of a Craiglist ad for one of our events.
I know of at least one relatively new member who joined after stumbling upon club-uploaded Youtube videos (Scope Clinic). We are actively maintaining a Facebook club page to raise awareness there as well.
There's a million options for entertainment these days. It's hard enough to get the attention of people that are already interested in our hobby, it's even harder to get people that aren't familiar with it interested. The more people that are helping to spread awareness, the better.
