Folks,

As you probably know, your Radio Technology Museum is participating in
this year's IEEE Engineering Mini Academy, an educational session for
budding technoweenies in grades 9-12. http://rtm.ar88.net/resources/miniA/

Our session, on February 8, at InfoAge, involves two exercises;
Breadboarding of a simple FM transmitter, and listening to AM radio as
we did at the DXpedition at the last meeting. See:
http://rtm.ar88.net/resources/miniA/ We're expecting upward of 80
kids. They will be divided into two groups, that will rotate through
the two 1-hour exercises. There will be 10-12 subgroups for each exercise.

What we need:

*Manpower: *

  * We need a few more assistants. Ten might not be too many. No
    special skills necessary.

  * These are smart kids. They follow directions, and are fun to work with.

*Hardware (loan): *

  * Digital AM portable radios for the Listening Exercise
  * Simple analog FM portable radios for the Transmitter Exercise.
  * Tool Kits: Long-nosed pliers, diagonal cutter, tweezers. (They're
just poking parts into the solder-less breadboard.)

Obviously, the best situation is if you can volunteer an even's time and
bring equipment.

Let me know via email, but call if you need to discuss: 908-892-5465
(10AM - 10PM)

Thanks,
Al
