Very nice job Al. I was thinking of doing a similar thing, but, eliminating
the socket completely and just using wires with clip leads. I would probably
keep the leads shorter to minimize inductance, but, as this unit does not
really measure sub micro-Henry and real small capacitors anyway, maybe it
does not matter. I have other similar meters that do go way down which are
better for RF work. This is more ideal for average most often encountered
