Hi Bob,
As Mike F. stated, your original post did hit the NJARC Reflector just
after you sent it. The deafening silence is because none of us has any
idea what it came from.
The only radios I know with a side-by-side array of tuning capacitors
across the front panel are the National RHM/AGS family. This was an
early shortwave superhet. But it had only 3 tuning caps ( RF, Mixer,
and oscillator), and they were National 270-degree-rotation units, and
were connected together by a rack-and-pinion arrangement, rather than
the cranks in your assembly.
Your part appears to have 500 mmF'ish caps like you'd find in a TRF
broadcast set. I looked through my books, and couldn't find anything
like that.
Regards,
Al
