[NJARC] Man wins Cold War radio competition, 44 years later

We never got caught... although it certainly wasn't because we were smart.

A friend recently bumped into a friend of mine from grade school whom I
haven't seen in over 45 years. Not only did he remember me, the first thing
he gleefully remembered was how we had built an AM transmitter in my
bedroom and then ran around the neighborhood on our bicycles with a
portable radio listening to our broadcast. Fortunately I didn't know I was
running too much current through the modulation transformer and it soon
burned out, ending our career as pirate broadcasters.
