Hi Ed,
Very interesting. The FCC shows nobody licensed on 1640 in NJ. I tuned
in the frequency, but WNYC - 820's antenna, 2.6 miles away, is bore
sighted on my house in Jersey City, and I'm hearing their second
harmonic (1640) loud and clear.
Google "1640 am New Jersey " Apparently 1640 is a hotbed of activity
for both legal (FCC Part 15) and pirate stations. Many of the outlets
also stream their signals on the web. For example Ironbound Radio
<http://www.ir1640amradio.com/> in Newark.
The bottom of this page makes specific reference to The Jersey Shuffle
on 1640: http://www.angelfire.com/nj2/piratejim/pirate.html
Good listening,
Al
