[NJARC] Estate sale - Stromberg Carlson TV

Hi Joe, I agree, it might not be possible to actually get the set
working or will require some very heavy lifting. I read about Marv
Beeferman's efforts, in the March Broadcaster, on restoring his
Hallicrafters T-505.
But I think most people would only want it for the "look". The sellers
look at it as an antique and I guess they think it "must" be valuable.
The sale is only a mile from me so I'll stop by and take a look, plenty
of old items to check out.

If the TV's picture tube or flyback transformer is shot, you're sort of stuck, unless the set is worth the time and effort of finding a replacement. Don't forget that these TVs, even when new, required a lot of service calls.
