On my Win 7 machine I have used Classic Shell for well over a year and
it works just fine. I learned about it from www.askvg.com Newer versions
seem geared to Win 8 users. It's freeware.

Since I don't use Win 8 I can't comment on how much the software will
help Win 8 users, browse around, ask questions and learn what Classic
