What wattage resistor...I suspect the IF coil wire diameter was tooooooo 
small for the plate current...otherwise...why would allllllll the same IF's 
open???

Next rookie question: resistor across the trimmer cap?

Called a Litz wire company...got quote on 7 strand @ 44 AWG...16,000 feet 
per pound...minimum order 2 pounds @ $280 per pound.

Wonder if the club should 'stock' it for members wishing to wind their 
own?..and buy only the feet they need.
