Hi Vic,

OHMMETER!

Dynamic speaker has 4 connections.  You should see low ohms between two 
of them. That's the voice coil, and hum-bucking coil shown in the 
schematic connected to the output transformer.  The other two should 
read something like 650 ohms.  That's the field coil, shown on the 
schematic as the power supply filter choke.  Check for shorts between 
the two windings, and from the windings to the speaker frame.

That should do it.
