[NJARC] Plastic case cleaning question

I have a big flashlight that got sticky like that and I used “Awesome Cleaner” (made by Awesome Products, Inc. CA.) to get it off.
It worked well, however, I would test it in a small area first and be carful with any silk screening.

yes.... I have also used the goop for many years and found it effective on
certain applications like residue......but this sounds like it might be some
condition with the plastic itself and not residue....?????

Joe, ran across that on an Eton 1, a rather large portable set. That was
one reason I didn't buy it. Apparently, it's a common "feature" on those
sets.
I have a small Grundig set that has that surface. Fortunately, it hasn't
developed that condition yet. Haven't heard of any way to prevent or clean
up that material.
