Hi,
The January 2013 issue of QST has an article on the cheap SDR Dongles along with the design of an up converter which the author claims works to below the broadcast band. However, there is little information on performance of the up converter in the article. A circuit board is available for the up converter from Far Circuits. It would be interesting to try out the up converter to see if it can provide a spectrum display of the BC.
