[NJARC] Stewart Warner 305 - curious matter?

The AC/DC battery eliminator is working fine.

AK E3 speaker works fine too...thanks Pete.

But...my radio does not seem to have the 'drawing power' to bring in more 
than a couple local stations.

While I was swapping the tubes, I discovered that the reception did NOT 
change when the 2nd audio tube socket was EMPTY = NO TUBE IN SOCKET!!

All tubes checked 'good' on my NRI tube tester.

How does one go about probing this TRF circuitry to see what's not right??
