[NJARC] How is everyone????

Up here in Morris County, things are still a mess. We didn't get much rain but the winds were simply unbelievable. About 80% of the County is without power and the few gas stations that are open have mile-long lines. Because of the gas lines, my wife and I are traveling by shoe-leather express.

About a half mile from me (Morris Plains), there are two houses cut in half by falling trees. Roadways are still blocked because apparently only JCP&L can remove trees that are tangled with power wires. I have never seen such destruction. On the street or in the stores, you can almost instantly spot the people who haven't had power for five days. They look like zombies. It's taking a real toll on them.

I heard one story about a fellow who bought a brand-new generator and even built a little shelter for it to protect it from the rain. Good planning, except that a tree fell on it.

Personally, I made out OK. We lost power for only about 15 minutes. I had a lot of downed branches but that's nothing compared to what other people have endured.
