For perhaps the first time in recorded history, the weather was perfect for all three days.
The hamfest Gods were not going to let such a thing happen without a protest...
...so at noon on Saturday, just when the attendance peaked, the main sewer line broke and sent a flooding torrent of raw sewage from all of the inside toilets down the middle aisle of the flea market. Several workers tried to literally stand on the spouting broken line to reduce the flow and trucks arrived to remove some of the material but it was not a nice-smelling flea market after that.
Despite the odor, an amazing variety of exceptionally rare and exotic keys changed hands.
I had not expected to see so many keys for sale this year and it was a pleasant surprise.
This year certainly ranked among the most productive in terms of telegraph keys.
There were at least 3 vendors with over 50 very fine and rare keys on display and many vendors with 10-20 keys on their tables..... ....
