Subject: [Boatanchors] paint stripping
I just tried a new product for paint stripping I wanted to tell about
Citristrip. Comes in a spray can and goes on foamy. Pleasant orangy odor,
biodegradable, no methelyne chloride---and it works!
Shake it up, spray it on, ignore it for a hour (or more) wipe it off and
give it a rinse. Done!
A can costs about $8 at WalMart and should easily do a pair of cabinets like
SX-117 / HT-44 plus power supply if you work smart about it. Don't get
impatient and it will do multiple coats as it doesn't dry out like other old
hazzardous stuff. And, it gets the paint inside the perf holes too.
Tried it on some old wood trim and it sure got rid of old varnish and stain
pronto.
Neat stuff. I'm impressed.
