OK, I'll entertain the worry-worts and ask if anyone has a dud to lend us, so we can let the air in first. 

Better still if someone has 2 duds for us, so we can do a trial run with dropping the thing and seeing how far the glass flies.

If not, we're going live, because I think the risk is overstated.  Our audience is at a distance of 15 feet.  The model is not a klutz, either, and will be wearing sensible shoes.

I must have smashed 100 TV picture tubes as a kid, and always found it underwhelming.
