[NJARC] Re-tolexing an amplifier

Hello all,
Last time I was at Kutztown I bought an old Bogen portable transcription amplifier. It was designed to play records or use as a PA in a public place. It had a turntable on it, but someone else at Kutztown bought the turntable only, and I bought the rest. Though working when I bought it, I recapped the whole thing and it is operating fine. Turns out if we don't completely lose interest or give up, I will be using it as a guitar amplifier for a corporate party soon. I have used it in this manner and it works fine, but cosmetically the thing looks a little rough\ugly. I am currently tossing around the idea of re-tolexing the cabinet, and am wondering if anybody out there in NJARC-land has done a similar restoration in the past? If so does anybody have any advice\tips\tricks\etc.? I am thinking about putting the "tweed tolex" that the old Fender amps used to give it an old retro appearance, as well as putting a "jewel lens" in place of the crappy little faded white lens for the power lamp. Any tips, tricks, comments, etc. are greatly appreciated....
Regards,
Matt
