[NJARC] Radio Technology Museum Wants

Hi John,

Hold that thought on the BC-1306. We really need one with the grill. I
think the GRC-9 is bigger.

Re: teletype Snellman oiled it up. I built an RS-232 to current loop
converter. (I'm a computer hardware guy, so that wasn't too bad.) We
only left a little smoke out of the selector magnet while klutzing
around. I discovered that TTY guys are even crazier than radio folks.
On of them wrote a piece of software, "Heavy Metal," that grabs AP new
and other stuff off the web, converts it to 5-bit Baudot code, and put
it out the serial port. FM principle, I suppose. We're hoping we can
set it up so an innocent bystander can send us a text message from their
cellphone. We have a guy in Argentina that's supposed working on that.

Can any of you hack Perl Scripts?

Al
