On closer examination the three sockets to the rear of the set are obviuosly 
for the plug-in coils and the other five sockets all in the same plane are 
for tubes.  The underside wiring tends to support that.  I have really 
stared at the enlarged views of the underside and by all accounts it appears 
to some sort of printed wiring.  This in the mid 20's!  That's a new one on 
me.
