[NJARC] 1N1763 rectifier diode

The 1N54xx series of diodes have a 3amp rated current while the 1N400x series of diodes is rated at 1amp.  The original diode being replaced is rated at 0.5amp, so the 1N54xx diodes are kind of wasted.  I'd recommend the 1N4007 because the leads are thinner and will be easier to work with.

Hi Walter,

Actually, the way I read the 1N1763 data in the Motorola Semiconductor
Data Library, Reference Volume, Fourth Edition, 3.0 is the forward
voltage drop (V sub F) while the operating current (I sub O) is 0.5
amps, so the 1N4007 is an acceptable substitute.  Furthermore, the same
document lists the lower voltage 1N4004 as a suggested replacement.  I
don't have data handy for the 5408.
