I beg to differ -- I grew up on BSR's and Garrards, and they worked good enough for me. I suspct that there was some user error on your part. ;-)
Seriously, they probably don't age well, since the idler whhels can harden, etc. But I suspect with a good cleaning/lube some of them would work fine.

No matter -- it looks like Darren came thru again!
