[NJARC] Club selling High Value items on Ebay

Getting back to my prior suggestion, I would think then offering the "choice" items first for members at a club discount would be fair, and then if no one is interested off to ebay. Determining what would be fair market value could be left up to a some sort of club panel / committee. This would avoid the appearance of any "shilling" for member discounts given for ebay auctions.

Thoughts?

>From my perspective it would only be legal if the NJARC member won. Since the NJARC member knows that he will be entitled to a discount he can effectively bid higher than his competition. So, let's say there is an item up there where it is expected to go for around $1000. The NJARC member can safely bid $1000 as he will then get it for $800. However, if someone wants it real bad and throw in a bid of $1200, then they will have to pay $1025. So, the NJARC bidder drove up the price as without his bid, the other guy could have won it for a lot less. That is essentially shill bidding and usually frowned on. - Mike
