[NJARC] Meeting Location (was "cheap radios at auction club" -vs- real radio collector club)

hi harry,

as the free ride at infoage is just about over.soon groups that want
space will be paying for
all utilities , maintenance & security.as the radio club has a very large
space for its museum
& storage areas we will have to raise cash to pay what is required.which
means selling donated
items for the best buck.

folks need to understand that running a museum is like running a
business.it requires
personel to set up & run the exhibits and it requires cash to pay for all of
the expenses.

not a discussion many want to get into but the radio club will be
running out of cash unless
some difficult decisions are made.

one of the ways NJARC can help infoage is to hold all its meeting
there.we have to pay for
meeting facility so why not pay for the space at infoage.

John,

Two different (but maybe not easily separable) questions here.

The one I asked everyone is: What are the pros and cons of InfoAge vs.
another location for future
meetings, since we have to make a decision soon about where we're going
to be.

My "con" comment about summer travel was only to get the discussion
started. As you pointed out, a "pro" for
InfoAge is that it is a true vintage radio location, as well as the site
of our museum. I expect that other folks will have
some other pros and cons. What are they?

The second question that you are asking, is much deeper and is an
ongoing issue, but discussing on the reflector
might not be so productive.

Where should we meet, and why?

Thanks.

                                    Harry K
