Hi Rob,

I heard you call CQ at 9AM on 144.5, or as close as I could tell on the PolyCom.

Eventually, you were in QSO with somebody (who was that??), but I couldn't copy the other station at all; I could hear a faint carrier at times. But you sounded pretty good, though fairly weak here. I figured you had zero chance of hearing me with this 19-inch whip, but I did give you a shout once.

While trying to tune up the PolyCom, the "Driver 2" knob and shaft pulled out. Oh, FUDGE! Also, something is "flaky" at the mike connector as well.
I could hear the PolyCom OK on the Yaesu (about six feet away) in earlier tests.

While the PolyCom transmits (in some fashion) it's clearly not ready for Prime Time. It's time to do some work on it.

Also, I didn't realize this was a split-frequency operation. I thought you were operating simplex on 144.5.

Anyway, it was good to hear you! Thanks for giving the 2M AM net a try.

Regards,

John
