Hi Alex,

Yes I did, and got reasonable responses. One however tried to
justify the Art junk saying that it "was" ham radio related, as the
husband (or brother) of one of the artist was a ham. I didn't bother
answering, but I'll tell you what I wanted to say: I know a
mortician who is a ham. I'll be dammed if I want to see his work
hanging in a booth at a hamfest.

A few years ago the big problem at hamfests were the vendors who
brought in XXX rated CD's and Videos to sell. Happily I didn't see
any of that junk there, at least it wasn't obvious. (I don't look
for such things, nor do I ever buy any.)

Once they start bringing in the junk, it just goes down hill. They
are trying to hold on to the site, which keeps charging more and more
for rent. It's a shame. We lost another location in MD because of
the high price of rent. I think this one will be gone soon as
well. But I hope not.

This is the first time I attended with a young person. Had I been
alone, I probably would not have commented. But the circumstances I
witnessed seemed more important then.

73, John
