Parkway South from North Jersey should be avoided Friday afternoon's and
Saturday mornings, especially on hot sunny days, unless you enjoy traffic
stress. If you're coming from Eastern North Jersey, NJ Turnpike to
Woodbridge and Route 9 South and then to 18 South. If you're coming from
central North Jersey, Route 287 South is your least aggravating southern
route. Since I live in the East Brunswick area, I just took 18 South.
There was almost zero traffic at 8:30 AM. Many of the NY weekend summer
commutators to the Jersey shore haven't discovered Route 18 yet.
