Hi all:

Got this radio...two pilot lamps have their voltage taken off the 'heater resistor' that is in the series tube filament circuit.

The problem is...the high voltage surge when I first put the radio on causes the pilot lamps to 'flash' bright...then they go toooo dim to be functional.

I increased the lamp voltage on the wire wound slide-tap on the heater resistor...only to blow out the pilot lamps from the surge in the attempt get them brighter so I can read the dial...

Circuit calls for 6.3v lamps...using what I 'think' are 6.3...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve
