The value of a photo editor for a writer
By having an easy to use editor for ordinary jobs, (size change) this
allows you to custom resize all photos to end up the same size if you
are doing a photo spread. -or- different sizes if you want a certain look.
It also allows you to brighten the photo if it is dark.
Cropping the interesting part of a large photo allows the important
subject to be properly displayed instead of lost in the middle of
uninteresting things. (crowd shots or shots of a table with 6 radios
on it, when you really want to show off only one or two.)
I hope this has helped all who like to play with photos.
A major photo editor is great for fixing bad photos or stretching the
length of someone's nose. :-) IrfanView is just great for fast adjustments.
Remember you need to work with large resolution photos to make them
small, or crop, and to brighten them properly. Once they have been
shrunk, further editing only dulls/blurs the photo.
