[NJARC] Test Unit TS-178/ARM-1

Ok, Military Radio Guys- A question for you! I recently picked up an item labeled as a "Test Unit TS-178/ARM-1" and the usual Signal Corps US Army, and contract info... I was told it was for ARC-3 and ARC-5 sets, but I have no idea in what context... Nor do I have any instructions or a manual.

The connecting cable with connector has been neatly clipped off at the top of the case. There is no battery or box inside, IIRC. There is a meter marked 0 through 100, with the notes "F.S.=50 uA, RES.= 2200 OHMS, CAL. 0.04" STEEL PANEL" and is a Weston Model 301 meter.

There is an 8 position switch- the only control on it- marked "OSC. 1, 2, 3, 4 REC., 4 TRANS., A+, B+"

Anybody know what I got here, and where I can find info? Can't find it on BAMA...
