Well, the BC-348Q works reasonably! Had a bad 5Y3GT in
the power supply(RCA homebrew in place of the
dynamotor) which I replaced with a 5V4. Does not fit
properly- but works out of the case, which is good for
testing. Listened to all the bands, figured out how
everything seems to work.
Was flipping, about to switch off, and hit a station
at 3.225 playing Glenn Miller music. Something Just
Right about that- Glenn Miller playing on a WWII
bomber radio... :)
