[NJARC] Slinky Antennas

Ok, as I am spending way too much time perusing web
sites looking at Slinky antennas, as they seem like
something that may work for my short term(that is,
until I get my own place where I can put up real
antennae)I figured I may as well see what the other
NJARC members think of the "Slinky Antenna"

The websites I've looked at all pretty much said the
same things- good reception/transmission qualities
from 10 or 20 to 80 or 160 meters(depending on length,
of course); that they could easily be rigged and
removed; easily adjusted by counting coils, and
clipping together the excess; don't leave out in the
weather, unless painted or coated somehow...

Here are a few of the resources I was looking at:

http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/2775/slinky10.html
http://kb6nu.com/the-slinky-antenna/

(I just thought I'd add this one- not much on Slinky,
but his use of a beech tree is quite original! Perhaps
quite useful with a spy radio!)

What do you guys think? Al?

Looks like a decent proposition for low money, and I
will probably put one together, at least indoors for
the moment, see how it compares to the "Alzwhire"
antenna I have currently(which will soon be
transformed into an end feed)

Scott
