Scott,
        I don't know what the mod could be. I guess the best thing to do is 
to slowly power up the T-O keyer up with a variac and pray you don't need to 
tune for maximum smoke - hi! If you need a variac, and don't have one, 
please let me know. I have a "loaner" I could let you use for the time 
being.

It sounds to me like you're going to have one great Hallicrafters station!
