Ed, there are two possibilities:

(1) a production change by the manufacturer; or

(2) an in-the-field modification, probably because the customer wanted a greater
bass response.

Somewhere, I have a booklet put out in the early 1930s by one of the capacitor
companies. It gave service techs tips on where and when to add capacitors to
improve performance.

By the way, I ran Beverly through Ghirardi's Radio Troubleshooter's Handbook. It
says that Beverly radios were made by the Warwick Mfg. Co.
