Hi Joe,
There are only about 3 caps in the set, and they are pretty
non-critical. I'd leave them unless there is a problem. I can't prove
it, but it almost seems like there was a change for the worse in the
paper industry in the late twenties. A lot of the early paper caps seem OK.
The first thing I'd do is ohm the audio transformers. They tend to be
the big problem. If you have open windings, there are work-arounds if
you can't find a replacement.
Watch for open resistors in the grid circuits of the RF amps. I had
this problem years ago with the Model 20 that's currently in the museum.
Power supply might be a challenge. What do you have in mind?
