Al, I think you'd be wise to segregate the radio folk from the youngsters
for an event like this. Kinda hard teaching several grades simultaneously
in a one room schoolhouse.

If you were to hold a separate event just for the say twelve and unders,
you can pick up a decent entry-level kits for $9 or $10 from on-line
sources like Hobbytron. . With a little "Non-Profit" PR pitch, you might
even be able to get them in bulk for less, possibly even for free.

While these kits are clearly for kids and well beneath the knowledge and
skills of many hobbyists, it would provide some valuable hands-on to a new
generation who have the potential of carrying on our passion.

PS: I have a load of NOS aligator clips I can donate to the cause.
