Ray - Good point! I think a good less expensive example of what you're 
referring to can be found in the National "SW-3". Just my opinion.

I like John's comment that "some people look at a radio from the inside out 
while others look at it from the outside in".  However there are those rare 
cases where the two outlooks meet and join.  Actually it's not so rare, we 
can think of quite a few examples where the radio is beautiful from the 
outside and is technically beautiful from the inside.  If I had relatively 
unlimited disposable income I would not hesitate to pay an exorbitant amount 
for a Zenith Stratosphere as being representative of both points of view. 
I'm sure most of us can come up with other less expensive candidates that 
represent inner and outer beauty in one package.  Who says black crackle 
paint and a purely functional panel is not beautiful?
