Hi Nick,

Regarding power cords, I bought a half dozen at the
local dollar store and will bring them next time. I
used one on my "homework assignment." You're
absolutely right -- power cords are something we
*always* need at the clinics, and we *always* forget.

A word of caution -- I brought some 9ft. extension
cords that claimed to be 16 gauge. Forget it! Although
the insulation was thick and impressive, the wire
inside was no more than 20 gauge. They're still fine
for table radios, but there's no way I would try to
draw more than a couple of amps through one of these.
I guess you get what you pay for.

Extension cords are good beause you can chop the
outlet end off, giving you a polarized line cord,
which is especially good for the AC/DC "hot chassis"
sets.
