[NJARC] Philco 37-84 almost there! maybe?

Al is on the money, but you didn't say if any of the bands work.  With 
two antenna transformers and three switch positions, I would expect 
something to work. 

I was playing with a like vintage Philco that had a burned out power 
transformer, shorted filter cap, burned out power resistor, wrong size 
bypass cap, missing capacitor terminal block and all in the power supply 
circuit.  I straightened all that out and on powering up, only one short 
wave band would work.  On looking at the band switch, I found unsoldered 
wires and decided to put the radio back in storage since I don't have a 
place to display it anyway.  Point is, since someone may have played 
with the chassis previously, check for bad connections and broken or 
missing wiring also.  You can even use you "test finger" to trace back 
to the antenna.  Just stay away from the B+!   =-O
