Hi,
I have been having fun listening to the frequency that the aircraft use to
talk to the Newark tower. Their transmissions are quite terse, so you have
to be on the ball to copy them. They usually give the flight number and
then a heading or altitude. You will sometimes hear them say "We have
Echo(or some other phonetic letter) which means the plane has copied the
information broadcast designated as E. When these broadcasts are updated
throughout the day, the letter is incremented.
Transmissions are AM.
I've been listening on my Navy RBK (Hallicrafters S-27)
