Your idea has merit. I'm glad you raised it.
I suspect that one good way to address the issue is for us to treat our
younger members as other people have treated us when we were young (or
even older) beginning collectors: they GAVE us stuff.
I remember the rush I got adding radios to my collection as a kid, and I
remember on more than one occasion a seller at Englishtown laughing under
this breath as I carted off a big console that I paid him a buck for.
Once they've got a few projects "on the bench" the overwhelming urge to
add more quiets down a bit (but it never goes away, does it?)
